Eyes (Make 2):
With white, ch 2.
R1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, you will be making this
in perpetual round.
R2: *2 sc in next st, sc 1 in each of the next 3 sts* repeat
once more.
Slip stitch in next sts, tie off. Break yarn, leaving enough
yarn to sew onto the body. Do not sew on the body yet.
Bow Tie:
Ch 11
R1: Skip first 2 ch, hdc 1 in each of the next 9 ch. Ch2,
turn
R2-4: skipping the chains, hdc 1 in each of the next 9 hdc.
Ch2, turn
R5: skipping the chains, hdc 1 in each of the next 9 hdc,
tie off.
Weave in the ends of the bow tie and cut the excess yarn.
Taking the end of the yarn on the ball, wrap around the middle of the rectangle
several times.
Finishing:
Cut 2 ovals out of the black felt and use the black thread
to sew on the whites of the eyes. Sew the finished eyes onto the body near the
open edge of body. Taking the orange yarn, sew a triangle directly under the
eyes (this is the beak). Sew the bow tie under the beak, and stuff the body.
Sew the top together and tie off.
Hope you enjoy making the little owl :)
